"Your Children Are not Your Children" By- Khalil Gibran

Image
"Your children are not your children. They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself. They come through you but not from you, And though they are with you yet they belong not to you. ... You may give them your love but not your thoughts, For they have their own thoughts. You may house their bodies but not their souls, For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams. You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you. For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday. You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth. The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite, and He bends you with His might that His arrows may go swift and far. Let your bending in the archer's hand be for gladness; For even as He loves the arrow that flies, so He loves also the bow that is stable."   Khalil Gibran

Muhammad (PBUH) The Human Being - Part 5

Image
Muhammad  was described to have been ever helpful to the needy and the helpless. His uncle Abu Talib had fallen into distress through his endeavors to maintain the old position of his family. Muhammad saw that Abu Talib was struggling financially after a severe drought. Muhammad decided to take charge of one of Abu Talib’s children and he convinced  his other paternal uncle Al-‘Abbas to do the same. Muhammad, being rather rich at this time by his alliance with Khadijah, tried to discharge part of the debt of gratitude and obligation which he owed to his uncle by undertaking the bringing up and education of his son 'Ali. Khadijah bore Muhammad  two sons and four daughters. All the males died in childhood, but in loving 'Ali he found much consolation.   About this time, Muhammad set a good example of kindness, which created a salutary effect upon his people. His wife Khadijah had made him a present of young slave named Zaid Ibn Haritha, who had been brought as a captive to

Exchange Gifts :)

Let's exchange gifts with our loved ones,  it always feels great to do so :)  The Prophet, Muhammad (pbuh) said: “Exchange gifts, as that will lead to increasing your love to one another.”  [Al-Bukhari] let's put smiles on the faces of our loved ones, through spending more time with them, exchanging gifts, cheering them up by nice words & jokes, & telling them that we love them. Let's learn from our Prophet how to show our loved ones that we love them, how to be good family members,  how to be good friends,  good parents,  good neighbours, and good coworkers. And if we can't always afford to buy gifts keep in mind that even a smile can be charity & a good word can be charity :) Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (pbuh) said, "It is also charity to utter a good word."     Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)  Said,  " Your smile for your brother is charity " You may be unable to
