If The Beloved Were Amongst Us
لو كان بيننا الحبيب
 
لو كان بيننا الحبيب
لدنا القاصي والقريب
من طيبة قبل المغيب
طالباً قرب الحبيب

في قربه النفس تطيب
تدعو الله فيجيب
أنوار طه لا تغيب
بلغنا لقاه يا مجيب

فدتك روحي يا حبيب
محمد مكرم الغريب
بقربك الروح تطيب
يا رحمة للعالمين





Translation

If the beloved were amongst us
Those from far & near will come closer
To Taibah (the city of Medinah) before the sunset
Desiring to be near the loved one (i.e. Prophet  Muhammad (pbuh))

In this company the soul feels great
On that moment If it prays to Allah, Allah will surely answer ( cause of the serenity and senserity)
The lights of  Muhammad pbuh will not cease to exist

O God who answers prayers please fulfill our hope to meet him 
I am willing to sacrifice my life for you, O beloved
Muhammad who is kind to strangers
In your company the soul feels comfort
O you are a  mercy to  the whole world


Transliteration:

law kana bainana al-habeeb
la dana alqassi wal qareeb
men taibateen qabl al mageeb
taleeban qurbal habeeb

fi qurbeehi anafsu tateeb
wa tad'u allaha fa yogeeb
anwaar taha la tagheeb
baleeghna leeqahu ya mugeeb

fadatka roohi ya habeeb
mohamadun mukreemal ghareeb
be qurbeeka arroho tateeb
ya rahmatan lilalameen

  • The best of you is the one who is best to his wife.

The Chambers of My Heart - Al Mutanabbi

My translation does not do it justice :   Tell my dear beloved who lives in the chambers of my heart, That even if I don't meet him, I still meet him And that my sight is connected to seeing him... Even if our dwellings are far away from one another I hope he realizes that I don't remember him As how can I remember him if I can't forget him in the first place?
